This is the second price revision of the NTorq 125 since the launch of its BS6 version

Two-wheeler sales have bounced back in the past two months. While they haven’t been able to match pre-Covid numbers, signs have been positive. However, many manufacturers have also silently increased prices for their products. The latest to join this bandwagon is the TVS NTorq 125. The Hosur-based manufacturer has hiked prices for its flagship scooter by Rs 1,000. The base variant of the TVS NTorq now retails for Rs 67,885 and the top-end NTorq 125 Race Edition carries a sticker price of Rs 74,365 (ex-showroom Delhi).

This is the second price hike for the NTorq 125 since the launch of its BS6 version. TVS hasn’t clarified the reasoning for the increase in the retail price yet. The BS6 transition has been quite a costly one for TVS’ most powerful scooter, as seen in the table below, and it has also affected its performance. Cosmetically, the BS6 NTorq is exactly the same as its predecessor. The major change here is the addition of fuel-injection to meet BS6 emission norms. The 125cc engine makes the same power and torque as before: 9.38PS and 10.5 Nm. Another big addition is the inclusion of a 0.8 litre larger fuel tank (which has increased capacity to 5.8 litres) and a weight gain of 1.9kg.

Despite the hike in price, the TVS Ntorq 125 still manages to undercut its rivals such as the Aprilia SR 125, Honda Grazia BS6 and the Suzuki Burgman Street
