The newly launched motorcycle comes packed with features and is available in three variants
The TVS Ronin has finally entered the Indian market, and as with most TVS bikes, the Ronin comes packed to the gills with features. The motorcycle is available in three variants: SS, DS and TD. What are these variants? We explain.
SS
The SS is the base variant of the TVS Ronin and comes equipped with single channel ABS and sports a price tag of Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike flaunts two single-tone colour schemes (Lightning Black and Magma Red) with no decals and the KYB USD fork here, instead of the gold finish on the other variants, comes in black.
Features on this variant include all LED lighting (headlight / taillight / indicators), two ABS modes (Urban and Rain) and Glide Through Traffic, which assists the rider while riding at low speeds.
The Ronin SS packs a fully digital LCD instrument cluster which shows speed, two trip meters, service due, side stand alert, gear shift assist and range. However, it misses out on connected features and a few tidbits that we will mention ahead.

DS
The Ronin DS variant gets everything the SS variant does, along with a dual-tone paint scheme. The DS is painted in Stargaze Black and Delta Blue colours and gets coloured stripes on the alloy wheels. Adding to that is the bright gold finish on the USD fork, silver headlight rim, and a stainless steel finish on the muffler guard and end cap. This variant commands a slight premium and retails at Rs 1,56,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).
TD
The TD variant is the top-of-the-line Ronin priced at Rs 1,68,750 (ex-showroom Delhi). What the TD comprises is everything from the smaller variants and much more.
The bike gets triple-tone colour schemes, and is available in Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange, and gets tank decals. The TD gets dual-channel ABS and like the other variants, features two ABS modes: Rain and Urban. The TD variant also gets span-adjustable levers, something the other two variants miss out on.
With the LCD instrument cluster, the TD variant also gets Bluetooth connectivity with TVS SmartXonnect. It displays call and SMS alerts and allows you to accept or reject calls and features turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist and ride assist. With the voice assist feature, the rider can get real-time updates on call and SMS alerts and control the navigation, all of which can be done hands-free.
Moreover, the SmartXonnect app allows riders to obtain details like last parked location, ride analysis data and vehicle statistics along with ride planning, on their smartphone.
Our Pick: Ronin TD
The Ronin TD variant comes packed with performance, lots of features and attractive colour schemes, and not to mention the dual-channel ABS, which makes it safer than the other variants. And in spite of packing all the bells and whistles, it is still considerably cheaper than its closest competition, the Honda CB350RS. So it is quite clear as to what our choice is, though we look forward to riding these bikes and giving you a better perspective.
Lastly, TVS also offers a bunch of accessories and kits exclusive to the Ronin, head here for all the details.
