- All three variants have made the cut for BS6 emission norms.

TVS’ scooter range is on the verge of completing the transition to BS6 emission norms. The most recent two-wheeler to meet BS6 emission norms is the Scooty Pep Plus, which is offered in three variants. The BS6 Scooty Pep Plus Series, which is essentially the base variant, is now priced at Rs 51,754, making it Rs 6,700 dearer than its BS4 counterpart. It retains the same colours, including red, gold, black and blue.
The Babelicious and the Matte Edition variants, on the other hand, are priced at Rs 52,954, a bump of Rs 6,400 over its predecessor. Interested customers can get the Babelicious Series in a single Princess Pink paint scheme while the Matte Edition is available in two liveries: Aqua and Coral. What sets the Matte Edition apart from the other two variants is the fact that it gets new 3D logos, subtle graphics updates and a premium textured seat.
Though TVS hasn’t revealed the specifications of the scooter, we expect the updated BS6-compliant 87.8cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine to put out the same 5PS of power at 6500rpm and 5.8Nm of torque at 4000rpm. Expect a minor difference, if any, in terms of performance as these scooters are likely to be heavier than their BS4 counterpart due to the additional equipment such as a larger cat-con to meet the new emissions norms. For reference, the BS4 Scooty Pep Plus weighs 95kg (kerb).
The Scooty Pep Plus uses a telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends.
