The sporty Race Edition is currently available in Red & Black colour
- You can now choose between two colours: Red/Black and Yellow/Black.
- TVS recently hiked the price of the scooter by Rs 1,000.
- This was the second price hike since the launch of its BS6 version.
- The BS6 model gets a larger 5.8-litre fuel tank and weighs 1.9kg more than before.
TVS has launched the NTorq 125 Race Edition in a new yellow and black livery. Prices remain unchanged at Rs 74,365 (ex-showroom Delhi). This effectively gives customers two colours options to choose from Red/Black or Yellow/Black. Aside from the new paint scheme, the scooter remains unchanged.
The BS6 transition was a costly affair for TVS, resulting in a premium of Rs 9,440 over the BS4 models. If that wasn’t enough, the manufacturer recently hiked the price of the BS6 NTorq 125 for the second time since its launch back in February 2020 -- adding a premium of Rs 1,000 to the sticker price.
The shift from BS4 to BS6 hasn’t been kind on the scooter’s powertrain either. While it makes the same power and torque as before, at 9.38PS and 10.5 Nm, the revised engine tuning makes it slower to 60kmph by 1.61 seconds compared to the BS4 model. Hauling an additional weight of 1.8kg doesn't help its case either. You can read about it here: TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition BS6: Road Test Review
On the bright side, the BS6 NTorq has a slightly larger 5.8-litre fuel tank (0.8-litre more) as opposed to its predecessor which should keep you on the road for longer. In terms of rivals, the TVS NTroq 125 competes against the Aprilia SR 125, Yamaha RayZR 125, and Suzuki Burgman Street 125.
