Upcoming Honda CBR 250RR Motorcycle Rendered

A rendered production-spec image of the highly anticipated Honda CBR250RR has been posted online

First introduced as the ‘Light Weight Super Sports’ at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, the Honda CBR250RR, is one of the most anticipated bikes globally. Since its debut as a concept, enthusiasts are waiting to get the first look at its production version. While the company hasn’t divulged any details regarding the motorcycle Japan-based Young Machine has published a rendered image of the bike.

Unlike the current generation sports-tourer CBR 250R, which isn’t amongst the most visually appealing bike in its segment, the upcoming quarter-litre 250RR model will be a supersports machine. It is scheduled to debut in the Asian market as soon as August 2016 and this image makes clear that it could be a serious rival to its competitors. According to the rendering, the upcoming Honda CBR250RR will get an aggressive styling with a sculpted fuel tank, edgy body lines and a chiseled tail section. The bike could sport a short, sporty single side-slung exhaust that does look good.

The Honda CBR250RR will likely be powered by a parallel-twin motor, which will position it as a premium quarter-litre offering in the market. The output of the quarter-litre mill could be between 37-40PS and it could deliver around 23Nm of torque. The bike is likely to get top notch technologies like ride-by-wire and switchable riding modes and it might be produced in Indonesia instead of Japan to keep the production cost low.

With the aggressive positioning of clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, the Honda CBR250RR can be a track-specific motorcycle like the KTM RC twins. However, it will also challenge the likes of the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
