TVS is all set to launch its new two-wheeler day after tomorrow and here’s what we think it might offer
With the forthcoming launch of the two-wheeler, everyone has been speculating on what the company might reveal on 23 August. Theories go as far as a production-ready version of the hybrid scooter, the TVS Creon to the Zeppelin which is a power cruiser. Now, however, reports suggest a whole different story as the bikemaker might launch a premium 110cc commuter motorcycle instead, and here’s what we can expect from the new offering.

According to sources close to the company, the motorcycle will be positioned above the TVS Victor and the TVS Star City Plus. So, we can expect the design to focus on both utility and trendy looks. Adding to its persona, would be some sleek looking graphics and paint schemes.
The bike is also said to get some premium features such as an all-digital instrument cluster with smart connectivity and turn-by-turn GPS assist, similar to the one on the TVS NTorq.
Engine -
Earlier claims mentioned a 125cc motor on offer, however, we are almost certain that the new bike may actually come with a 110cc powerplant instead. And this could very much be possible, considering TVS’ 110cc lineup which consists of the TVS Victor and TVS Star City Plus. Taking into account the fact that the new bike is a more premium offering, it could get the same engine as the TVS Victor. A 109.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled mill that makes 9.6PS of power at 7500rpm and 9.4Nm of torque at 6000rpm.
Underpinnings -
It's a similar case with the mechanicals too, as the bike is expected to be based on the same platform. Which essentially means, the bike will employ the same single cradle frame with conventional telescopic forks up front and a twin shock absorber setup at the rear. Again, considering the premium badge, we expect the bike to come with a front disc brake, at least as an option. 17- or even 18-inch alloys with tubeless tyres won't be surprising either.
Price -
Expect the new bike to command a premium over the Victor. Since the TVS Victor starts at Rs 53,295, and the Star City (Electric Start) is priced at Rs 51,120, we can assume that the bikemaker to price the motorcycle between Rs 55,000 - Rs 60,000 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
And, we may not have to wait too long for the complete reveal as the launch event is slated to take place on 23 August which is just two days away.
