The auto industry is shaping up for a big turnaround as every auto manufacturer is gearing up for the implementation of BS6 emission norms. Even at the 59th SIAM Annual Convention, the focus was around the major shift in emission legislation. So, here are the key news pieces from this past week.
Honda, Suzuki BS6-compliant Lineup Details Revealed
This was one of the biggest indicators of what to expect from BS6 two-wheelers as representatives from Honda and Suzuki confirmed that their BS6 compliant products will be fuel-injected and not use e-carbs. Both Japanese manufacturers will be bringing their BS6 products well before the 1 April, 2020 deadline.
2019 BS6-compliant Honda Activa 125 India Launch Confirmed
The date is finally set for India’s first BS6-compliant two-wheeler as Honda will be launching the 2019 Activa 125 on September 11. It will get a fuel-injected 125cc engine. We expect prices to go up by Rs 5,000 over the current model.
Bajaj Pulsar Lineup To Get BS6 Updates Soon
Bajaj Auto has given us confirmation that all of its existing Pulsar models will be upgraded to BS6 norms come April 1. This means the likes of the Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220 will now come with fuel injection. More info on when the BS6 Pulsars will arrive here.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 Price Hiked
We had initially received news of Royal Enfield planning to hike the prices of its 650cc motorcycles a couple of months ago. The new prices come into effect from this month onwards.
