Two of Yamaha’s sportiest 155cc scooters compared in detailed visuals
Just a month ago, Yamaha launched the Aerox 155 in India, its sportiest scooter for the country yet. And then, a few days ago, the Japanese bike maker also launched the Force 2.0 in Taiwan. While the sporty siblings share their mechanicals, they are distinct in their own right. Here’s how.
Yamaha has equipped both scooters with a split-headlight setup. But while the Force 2.0 uses halogen units, the Aerox 155 gets LED illumination. Overall, the latter looks much sleeker.

The Force 2.0 gets a flat footboard and is a maxi-style scooter. On the other hand, the Aerox 155 gets a proper step-through maxi design. While it may look sporty, the practicality does take a hit.
Yamaha has provided the Force 2.0 with a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor with VVA and a silent starter. The Aerox 155 uses the same engine and claims to dish out 15PS and 13.9Nm. However, unlike the latter, the Force 2.0 gets traction control as well.
Both get LCD consoles but the Aerox 155 benefits from Bluetooth-enabled smartphone connectivity.
The Force 2.0 gets a 6.1-litre underseat fuel tank, whereas the Aerox 155 has a 5.5-litre unit at the front.
Underseat storage on the Force 2.0 and Aerox 155 is 23.2 litres and 26.5 litres, respectively.
Both scooters are suspended on a telescopic front fork and twin rear springs. However, Yamaha India offers the Aerox 155 with optional gas-charged rear springs for Rs 17,024.
Braking hardware on the Force 2.0 consists of a 267mm front and a 230mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Meanwhile, the Aerox 155 has a 230mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum with single-channel ABS.
At 1340mm, the Force 2.0’s wheelbase is 10mm shorter than the Aerox.
The Aerox 155 gets a 790mm seat height while that of its sibling is 815mm.
In Thailand, the Yamaha Force 2.0 retails at an equivalent of Rs 2.66 lakh. On the other hand, the Aerox 155 costs Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India.
To sum up, the Aerox 155 is not only the more affordable of the two but also has more features on offer.
