As we all know that Yamaha Motor India is going to launch its entry-level performance motorcycle - YZF-R3 tomorrow at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC). But most of the people are unaware of the fact that the bookings of the motorcycle have been started in select dealerships across the country. The booking amount is Rs. 10,000, whereas the price tag of the bike is expected to be around Rs. 3 lac. Furthermore, few days back, the motorcycle was spotted in India and it was pretty apparent from its images that the manufacturer has not kept the Anti-lock braking system, a standard feature.
Although, the company has not standardized ABS, it might arrive as an optional feature with Yamaha YZF-R3. On the other hand, the colors in which it can be available in India are Red, Race Blue and Midnight Black. Also, the price difference between the ABS variant and the standard one will be around Rs. 30,000. The competition is going to be more discrete with the entrance of this machine as people will be go berserk when it will come to choosing their companion for roads among R3, KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Hyosung GT250R and Honda CBR250R.
Yamaha YZF-R3 houses a 321cc, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine that is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The motor is tuned to generate a maximum power of 41.4bhp with a peak torque of 29.6Nm. It is built on a Diamond frame and has a kerb weight of around 169kg. The design of the motorcycle is not at all stressful, which makes it a good for everyday use. We hope to see the machine igniting the Indian roads alike its younger sibling YZF-R15 very soon.
