Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd (YMIS) is planning to launch a new 125cc premium scooter in India, which will be based on the global product- Nozza Grande. Recently, the upcoming scooter has been spotted testing near Chennai. The test mule was un-camouflaged, however, the name of the scooter was covered by black strips. Reports claim that it has been code-named as '04X' and expected to be priced between Rs. 55,000 - 60,000.
The parent product of the upcoming scooter- Yamaha Nozza Grande is currently on sales in Vietnam with many segment above features. So, we can expect some of its amazing characteristics with the new machine. The Indian version of the scooter might carry the front mounted fuel tank to provide extra under-seat storage. It might also get an analog-digital console like the Grande and telescopic forks at the front. The Yamaha Nozza Grande comes with 6-spoke alloys and front disc brake as standard features. However, these features might be optional with the Indian version.
The Indian version of the scooter might also get a new 125cc Blue Core engine, based on the Grande's motor. The new engine is expected to deliver a decent power output between 8-9bhp and a mileage between 50-55kmpl. In the Indian market, this new premium offering will compete with the scooters like Honda Activa 125, Mahindra Rodeo, Suzuki Swish, Suzuki Access and the entire Vespa range of scooters available here.
