These unused vehicles are likely to be registered by the dealers and could be sold off as second-hand two-wheelers, legally
- Even though they’re second-hand on paper, these two-wheelers are likely to be brand new.
- The offer applies to tier 2 or tier 3 cities, and depends on the dealerships having stocks.
- We’d suggest you hurry up as the stocks are quite limited.
Honda has introduced a new initiative on its website called ‘Unused Vehicle’. It is likely that these are unsold BS4-compliant models that have been registered by the respective dealers and are being sold off as second-hand two-wheelers on paper. Even though they are technically used bikes, they should be brand new in terms of mechanicals. The company has very limited stock and they are available mostly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
The 18 models on sale. Notable ones include the Honda Activa 5G, Honda Activa 125, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Honda CB Shine/Shine SP, Honda CB Unicorn 160, Honda CBR250R, Honda Cliq/Navi, Honda Dio, Honda Grazia, and Honda X-Blade. Interestingly, the Honda CB Unicorn 160 was discontinued back when it failed to meet the safety norms. So we aren’t sure if you’ll be able to get that particular model.
In order to initiate the process, all you have to do is go to the Unused Vehicle tab under the Book Now section on the brand’s official website. Once you enter the required details, you’ll receive a call back from the nearest dealership which has your chosen vehicle in stock.

Honda commenced the sale of BS6-compliant two-wheelers well before the deadline of April 1, 2020. However, due to the sheer scale of their sales and also due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns, some of the BS4-compliant vehicles might have been left unsold, even after the government’s extension of the deadline by ten days. While manufacturers cannot legally sell BS4 two-wheelers now, the unsold vehicles could have been registered by the dealers themselves before the deadline to be sold as second-hand vehicles at discounted rates.
So if you’re contemplating on buying one and are not keen on going for a BS6-compliant model, we urge you to check out Honda’s website for some good deals. If you can recall, certain dealers offered huge discounts on the BS3 Honda CBR250R that the money saved would have sufficed to buy a brand new Honda Navi! Who knows, if you’re lucky, history might just repeat itself.
