The 2020 model gets small yet significant changes for 2020

- Gets styling updates and a full-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.
- Its electronics package has also been updated.
British two-wheeler manufacturer Triumph has launched the 2020 Street Triple RS in India for Rs 11.13 lakh (ex-showroom, India). That’s the exact same price as the outgoing BS4 model. For 2020, the streetfighter comes with cosmetic updates, a reworked engine, and updated electronics. It competes against the Yamaha MT-09, KTM 790 Duke, and the Ducati Monster 821. Bookings have commenced, and test rides will begin soon after the lockdown lifts.
For starters, the Street Triple RS features a new aggressive bug-eye LED headlight running LED DRLs, a redesigned flyscreen, side panels, tail section, and seat cowl.
The 765cc triple-cylinder engine that's been carried over from the previous model has been tweaked to comply with Euro 5/BS6 emission norms. While peak power remains unchanged at 123PS, it's produced higher up at 11,750rpm. Peak torque, on the other hand, now stands at 79Nm -- 2Nm more at 9350rpm, which is at 1450rpm lower than the previous-gen RS. Apart from this, the first two gear ratios on the bike are shorter, allowing it to offer better acceleration off the line.
Putting a leash on the engine is an improved electronics package. It includes a bi-directional quick-shifter as standard and five rider modes, which have been tweaked to suit the new engine characteristics. It features a full-colour TFT console with MyTriumph connectivity system. That said, you'd have to purchase the optional Bluetooth module if you wish to use the telephonic operation and GoPro controllability.
In terms of hardware, the bike gets the same fully-adjustable suspension setup from Showa and Ohlins. The bike is anchored by twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear clamped by Brembo calipers. The only noticeable change is a set of grippier Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres.
Triumph has managed to successfully update most of its lineup including the Bonnie range and now the Street Triple RS. This essentially leaves the Tiger 900, Speed Twin, Bonneville Bobber, Thruxton 1200 R, Scrambler 1200, and the Street Scrambler, which will be updated over the year.
