Gets design tweaks for a sharper look and a retuned engine for better performance
Most of you have already seen Honda's X-ADV in some of our previous articles. It’s a brutal machine alright. For 2021, it’s been reworked in terms of styling and performance. What exactly has changed? Check out our compilation of detailed images to find out.
First up is the overall design. The styling for 2021 is visibly sharper than the previous-gen model. The slimmed-down proportions of the scooter give it an aggressive stance.
The all-new sleeker LED headlights add to its overall aggression.
Under the skin though, is a new tubular steel diamond frame, which Honda claims not only helps save weight but is also more rigid. It even makes more room for storage (22-litre) underseat compared to the model it replaces. You even get a 1.2-litre glove box for additional knick-knacks.
Other notable features include a Bluetooth-enabled 5" TFT display with Hondas Smartphone Voice Control system, a smart key, knuckle guards, a step-up seat, USB charging port, and a centre-stand.
The windscreen has been redesigned for better wind deflection.
The exhaust design and the tubeless tyres with wire spoke wheels remain unchanged.
Honda has made huge strides in terms of performance. It uses the same 745cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine as before, but it's been retuned to make 58.6PS and 69Nm. That's a gain of almost 4PS over the old engine. Revised gear ratios on the 6-speed DCT allows for a wider powerband, which means the X-ADV is more than comfortable on the highway, all while consuming less fuel.
Honda’s electronic rider aid suite for the X-ADV might not be as comprehensive as other scooters but it does get recalibrated rider modes (Standard, Sport, Rain, Gravel, and Custom) and traction control for a more seamless riding experience.

There's no change on the hardware front. It continues to use a 41mm USD fork and a monoshock along with twin discs up front and a single disc at the back.
The 2021 Honda X-ADV is available in Malaysia for RM 67,799 (equivalent to Rs 12.14 lakh) in three colours: Pearl Deep Mud Gray, Grand Prix Red, and Graphite Black.
