The engine is now compliant with the BS6.2 and OBD2 norms
The 2023 Honda CB200X has been launched, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,46,999. This marks a Rs 2,499 price increase compared to its initial launch a couple of years ago.
In terms of updates, the 2023 CB200X retains its 184.40cc single-cylinder engine, now compliant with BS6.2 and OBD-2 standards, delivering 17.26PS and 16Nm. Additionally, it now features a slip-and-assist clutch, mirroring the changes seen on the 2023 Hornet 2.0, the bike on which the CB200X is based.
The core specifications of the bike remain unchanged, including the 5-speed gearbox, USD fork and monoshock suspension setup, and dual petal disc brakes (276mm front and 220mm rear) equipped with single-channel ABS. The tyre setup remains at 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear. Moreover, the knuckle guard-mounted LED indicators, bash plate, and tall windshield also remain unchanged.
Next, the new CB200X’ all-digital LCD instrument console remains the same too, offering readouts such as speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, twin trip meters, and a gear position indicator, along with a clock.
The primary competitor for the 2023 Honda CB200X is the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, which is priced Rs 2,223 lower and offers superior adventure-oriented features. Given the modest updates on the CB200X, enthusiasts had hoped for more substantial improvements such as long-travel suspension, a 19-inch front wheel, and Bluetooth connectivity to help it stand out among its rivals. These expectations have persisted since its launch two years ago.
