The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade and the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP will be sold as completely built-up units (CBU) in the country
Honda has launched the 25th Anniversary CBR1000RR Fireblade in the country. The CBR1000RR is the flagship litre-class motorcycle for Honda in the global market. The CBR1000RR Fireblade and CBR1000RR Fireblade SP will be imported and sold as completely built-up units (CBU) in the country. Customers can contact Honda’s Wing World outlets in Mumbai and Delhi regarding booking and enquiries for the motorcycles. The 25th Anniversary CBR1000RR Fireblade SP was showcased at the 2016 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, Italy.
The CBR1000RR Fireblade is powered by a 999cc in-line four-cylinder engine which develops 192PS @ 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 114Nm @ 11,000rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle features cornering ABS system, ride-by-wire technology, 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Selectable Engine Brake (SEB) system, Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD), Downshift assist, Riding Mode Select System and Power Selector. It gets TFT liquid crystal display which is inspired by the RC213V-S street-legal version of Honda’s Moto GP bike. The motorcycle gets 43mm inverted telescopic forks with 120mm travel at the front and gas-charged HMAS monoshock with 62mm travel at the rear. The CBR1000RR Fireblade is priced at Rs 17.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Seat height is 832mm, ground clearance is 130mm and it weighs 196kg. The CBR1000RR Fireblade faces competition from the Yamaha R1, Kawasaki ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and MV Agusta F4.
The CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is a top-spec version which gets the same power output figures and other feature lists as the CBR1000RR Fireblade. In addition to the stock bike, it gets top of the line semi-active 43mm Ohlins NIX30 Smart-EC suspension with 120mm travel at the front and gas-charged Ohlins TTX36 Smart-EC monoshock with 60mm travel at the rear. The bike gets Inertia measurement unit (IMU), Rear Lift Control (RLC) and Wheelie control. Seat height is 820mm, ground clearance is 129mm and the motorcycle weights 195kg. Both the motorcycles get diamond type aluminium composite twin-spar frame and LED headlamps. They are shod with 120/70 Z R17 tyre at the front and 190/50 Z R17 tyre at the rear and get a 16-litre fuel tank capacity. Braking duties are done by dual disc rotors at the front and a single disc rotor at the rear. The CBR1000RR Fireblade SP faces competition from Kawasaki ZX-10RR, Aprilia RSV4 RF, Ducati 1299 Panigale S, Yamaha R1M and MV Agusta F4 RR. Buyers now have options to choose from all the manufacturers in the premium litre class motorcycle segment.
