BMW G310 is being showcased at the ongoing Thailand Motor Expo. It is most likely to make its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2016 in February. To be manufactured by TVS Motors in Hosur, the BMW G310 will be exported to some of the European countries and emerging markets of Asia.
The TVS version of the bike will come to India next year, which will be sold alongside the BMW make in their respective dealerships. Though the TVS has its presence in around 50 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, but it is still not clear that the Indian manufacturer will export this motorcycle.
BMW G310 is the smallest displacement motorcycle till date by BMW and is powered by 313cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers around 33.5 bhp of maximum power at 9,500 rpm and the peak torque of 28Nm at 7,500 rpm. The engine of the motorcycle is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle progresses on 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear tyres. The stopping power is provided by 300mm and 240mm disc brakes at the front and rear wheel respectively. In terms of safety and comfort, it has a two-channel ABS and inverted forks upfront.
The bike has borrowed its looks from other BMW Motorrad offerings such as S1000R and R1200R and weighs somewhere around 158kg, an ideal weight for the bike of this segment. TVS might showcase it during the upcoming Auto Expo in Greater Noida.
