Christmas is here and here's what our team wishes to be gifted by Santa
Dear Santa,
We have (mostly) been good boys this year. We did lots of fuel efficiency stories, brought exciting reviews, and covered funky content here. So, if you were to drop the keys of any bike in our stocking this year, we have made a list. And don’t worry, we aren’t greedy. We are sticking to bikes under a lakh and a half rupees.
Thank You
Jehan: Bajaj Pulsar N160 - Rs 1,29,645 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Probably the finest Pulsar currently on sale, the Pulsar N160 left me spellbound. Even when things were pretty chaotic on the first ride, because of the monsoons and Pune’s excellent roads, the Pulsar felt sure-footed and calm. It is nicely balanced and has brought back the Pulsar charm that sort of fizzled away in the past few years.
Praveen: Ather 450X - Rs 1,46,340 (on-road Pune including subsidies)
With increasing fuel costs, it makes the perfect sense to use an electric scooter for my commutes within the city. The Ather 450X is by far one of the most sorted products out there with an impressive balance of performance, looks and features. Though its claimed range isn’t on par with some of its more popular rivals, it is more than adequate for my usage.
Bernard: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Rs 1,44,740 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Packing impressive performance with ride modes, adjustable suspension, smartphone connectivity and frugality, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has all the ingredients to make it a perfect ride for me to commute to office daily. And it also offers enough punch to bring a smile on my face on the occasions I do stretch its legs on the highway.
Ishan: Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Retro Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom)
Compact, nimble, hardy and with a dash of sportiness, the Retro variant of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 brings a fair bit to the table for a pragmatic enthusiast. Combined with the super torquey J-series 350cc engine and reto-theme the Hunter 350 makes for good company for an urban dweller like me.
Sudipto: Yamaha Aerox 155: Rs 1,40,800 (ex-showroom)
Enough performance to keep bikes at bay, along with the convenience of an underseat storage. So the perfect runabout for everything from weekend rides to grocery runs. Now about that suspension…
Nishaad: Hero XPulse 200: Rs 1,37,496 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The XPulse 200 has been the ‘love at first sight’ motorcycle for me. As someone who’s obsessed with rugged ADVs, the XPulse 200’s go-anywhere attitude allures me and ever since I saw tons of them at the Pune Offroad Expedition 2022, the urge to buy one has never been higher.
Manaal: TVS Raider 125: Rs 93,489 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Now, why would I want a 125cc commuter as a Christmas gift? Because, the riding experience with the Raider is anything but that of a commuter. Its performance can put the likes of Pulsar NS 125 or even the Yamaha FZ-X to shame, and it is still the most efficient 125cc motorcycle we have tested so far. And to top that off, it stands apart in the sea of commuters, and has features that not many can brag of, like riding modes!
