New engine, off-road oriented underpinnings and more!
Like the Ducati Multistrada 1260, but want something more off-road friendly? The company has now launched the more hardcore version of the flagship tourer, the 1260 Enduro. That said, here’s everything you need to know about the all-new motorcycle.

Gets an all-new engine
Perhaps, the biggest update here comes in the form of an updated motor. Powering the 1260 Enduro is an all-new 1262cc L-twin motor, which has been tuned for more low- to mid-range grunt. It now makes 158PS (up by 5.5PS) of power at 9500rpm and a similar 128Nm of torque at 7500rpm. However, 85 per cent of the torque is available from as low as 3500rpm which is a boon when off-roading. The new motorcycle also gets ride-by-wire, for a more linear throttle response. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quick-shifter offered as standard.
Certainly looks the part
Despite carrying the same design as the Multistrada 1260, the 1260 Enduro looks more menacing thanks to its larger spoked wheels and off-road-oriented tyres. It also packs a bigger a 30-litre fuel tank compared to the Multistrada 1260’s 20-litre tank. Additionally, the Enduro also gets a new livery and a sand paint scheme. However, you’ll have to pay Rs 24,000 more than the red one for it.
Gets more off-road friendly underpinnings
Compared to the older-gen Enduro, the seat height (860mm) and the handlebars are lower for better ergonomics. Even the frame is now lighter and the low centre of gravity helps with better balance on the road and off it. Additionally, it also gets new Sachs suspension (46mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear) now, which works in tandem with Ducati’s semi-active Skyhook Suspension. This system factors in road surfaces with the rider, pillion and luggage weight, while continuously adjusting rebound and compression damping for a plush ride in all riding conditions. That said, compared to the older Enduro, the suspension travel at both ends has been reduced by 15mm, to 185mm. This new electronic suspension also allows up to 400 parameter combinations for individually setting up the ride.
What remains unchanged here are the bigger 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, which come wrapped in new Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres that are designed for better performance in the wet.
Loaded with electronics!
Just like the all-new Multistrada 1260, the Enduro gets the same 5-inch TFT instrument console, with smartphone connectivity through Ducati’s app. Rider aids here consists of 6-axis Bosch inertial measurement unit, eight-level traction control, three-level cornering ABS, rider modes (urban, sport, touring and enduro), wheelie control and hill-hold control. Other notable features include cruise control, backlit handlebar switches and all-LED lighting.
Gets a premium pricetag
At Rs 19.99 lakh, the top-of-the-line Enduro is Rs 1.96 lakh more expensive than the previous generation model. It also costs Rs 2.19 lakh more than the standard Multistrada 1260. And, in case you fancy the sand paint scheme, be prepared to shell out Rs 20.23 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India). However, we have to say, considering the overall package, you do get quite a lot here.
