EXCLUSIVE: Hero Passion Plus Fanboys Rejoice!

The icon is all set to make a comeback in a cleaner guise

Once again, we’ve managed to dig out some scoop for all you enthusiasts out there. And this time it’s from the stable of the world's biggest bikemaker, Hero. The iconic Passion Plus is all set to make a comeback as it was recently spotted at a dealer event. 

The OG Passion Plus’ fanboys will be delighted to see that the bike retains its familiar, curvy design. Heck, both the colours are ones the bike had earlier, which will make many of you embark on a trip down the memory lane. The sloper engine too hasn’t been messed around with and you can expect output figures in the same ballpark as the 8PS and 8.05Nm that the Splendor Plus has from its 97.2cc mill. That said, it’ll obviously be a fuel-injected and OBD 2-compliant one, given the ongoing norms. 

What’s Different Then?

Upon closer inspection, you will see the slight differences among this bike and its predecessor. The headlight cowl, for example, is a slightly revised one. This bike’s grab handle too has a ‘lip’, meaning it extends nearly right above the taillight. The bike also has a different crank case. The biggest difference though, are the tyres, which have a lot more grooves on this bike, a departure from the commuterish ones we previously saw on the Passion. 

One last addition on this bike is the white rim tape on its wheel, something that does look nice, and gels well with the other white graphics on the bike. 

Given that it’s already on display at such events, we expect Hero to launch the bike soon. Given that Splendor Plus’ prices start from Rs 72,076, the Passion Plus’ (ex-showroom Delhi) could start from around Rs 75,000 (ex-showroom). Its rivals then, would be the TVS Radeon, Bajaj Platina 100 and the Honda Shine 100.
