- It will get an LED headlamp and a fully digital instrument console.
- Honda has tweaked the dimensions of the new scooter as well.
Honda is all set to launch the Activa 6G on January 15, making it the third BS6-compliant two-wheeler from the Japanese manufacturer in India. While Honda is yet to reveal the new Activa 6G completely, we’ve received RTO documents that reveal some crucial information about the scooter.
The upcoming Activa 6G will be powered by a fuel-injected 110cc motor that belts out 7.79PS at 8000rpm. In comparison, the Activa 5G makes 8PS of power at 7500rpm. The documents haven’t revealed the torque and fuel efficiency figures, but we expect there could be a slight difference between the two variants. There’s no information about the underpinnings, but it’s likely that Honda will stick to the Activa 5G’s suspension and braking hardware.
At 1260mm, the wheelbase is now 22mm longer than before and the length has been increased from 1761mm to 1833mm. The documents also reveal that the upcoming BS6-compliant Activa 6G is likely to be available in two variants. In terms of features, the new Activa 6G will get an LED headlamp and a digital instrument cluster. Honda could even equip it with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, a side-stand cut-off switch, an ACG starter, and a start-stop system that could increase the overall fuel efficiency.
As far as pricing is concerned, the new Activa 6G is likely to cost around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 more than the current-gen scooter (Rs 55,934, ex-showroom). When launched, the Activa 6G will be second BS6-compliant 110cc scooter after the TVS Jupiter. Stay tuned to BikeDekho for more information from the launch event.
