This model is limited to just 800 units in Malaysia
Honda has launched a Repsol Edition of its entry-level supersport, the CBR150R in Malaysia. The biggest change on the motorcycle is the visual one as the bike comes draped in Honda’s MotoGP livery. This attractive paint scheme combined with the fact that the bike is limited to only 800 units in Malaysia further boost its exclusivity factor.
The orange paint scheme on the tank and alloys coupled with the white and red touches on the side panel give the bike road presence and it’s bound to grab a lot of eyeballs. What further adds to the sporty appeal is the aggressive fascia, with a bi-LED headlight flanked by sleek LED indicators.
Mechanically, the CBR150R is still the same with its 149.16cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 16.3PS and 13.7Nm. For context, the India-spec Yamaha R15 V4 makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm from its 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled mill. What’s interesting is that the Malaysia-spec Yamaha R15 makes a massive 19.3PS along with 14.7Nm.

Underpinnings on the CBR150R include an inverted fork along with a preload-adjustable monoshock absorber. Backing its sporty credentials are the 17-inch wheels on both ends with a 100-section tyre at the front and 130-section one at the rear. There are disc brakes on both ends with the safety net of a dual-channel ABS. The instrument cluster on the bike is an LCD one.
The bike is expected to arrive at dealerships in a week and Honda has priced the baby CBR at RM 13,4999 (approximately Rs 2.42 lakh), which is RM 1,000 (approximately Rs 18,000) more than the standard variant. While that might be too much money for a colour scheme, one cannot deny that this livery looks absolutely smashing!
