Here's a closer look at how the newly arrived Japanese neo-retro naked stacks up against its German rival
Though Honda India took its own sweet time, it has finally re-introduced the Honda CB300R in its BS6 avatar. So let's see how the bike goes up against its primary rival, the BMW G310R.
On the design front, both the motorcycles sport different styling elements. The new CB300R gets a neo-retro look while the G310R carries a sharp and aggressive streetfighter demeanour. Both the bikes come equipped with LED headlights. However, there's a difference in the design of the headlight unit: the CB300R gets a classic circular unit while the G310R mounts an angular unit up front.
Both the bikes employ an identical suspension setup: a USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The gold finish on the forks of both bikes gives them a premium feel.
The braking and wheel setup is also similar on both bikes as they employ single disc brakes at both ends with ABS and 17-inch alloy wheels. That said, the ABS unit on the Honda CB300R is IMU-enhanced. The wheels come wrapped in tyres having 110-section units at the front and 150-section units at the rear. The BMW G310R comes equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres while the Honda CB300R uses MRF Revz.
The Honda CB300R is priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in two paint schemes: Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Steel Black. Meanwhile, the BMW G310R is priced at 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and offered in a choice of three dual-tone colours: Style Sport, Cosmic Black 2, and Style Passion.
