The Special Edition retro receives cosmetic updates
Back in 2019, Honda launched the CBF190TR in China. Later on, the bike received a few updates leading to a bump in the power and torque. Now, Honda has launched a ‘Special Edition’ of the CBF190TR for the Chinese market and here’s what’s it offers:
While the design has been carried over, the retro offering now gets a lick of new Grey paint with Black and Red accents. The fascia has seen a fractional refresh with the addition of a new flyscreen placed above the round headlight housing the vertically stacked projector lamps with an LED DRL. Another addition to the Special Edition are the mock radiator guards.

The Honda CBF190TR Special Edition uses the same motor as the standard variant-- a 184.4cc air-cooled unit belting out 16.85PS and 16.3Nm. For reference, the Honda Hornet 2.0’s 184.4cc air-cooled motor makes 17.2PS and 16.1Nm.
Feature-wise, the new variant uses the same LCD instrument cluster. Its underpinnings too remain unaltered with the suspension duties being handled by a USD front fork and a monoshock setup. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of a front and rear disc with single-channel ABS.
Last but not least, the ribbed single-piece seat now comes wrapped in tan leather and the side panels get the ‘93’ number, used by Honda’s MotoGP rider Marc Marquez.
In China, Honda offers the CB190TR for CNY 17,580 (approximately Rs 2.02 lakh). Just like the standard model, Honda will not bring the Special Edition to India anytime soon.
