Is the Honda Hornet 2.0 better than its Chinese cousin?
Honda has launched the CBF190TR Special Edition in China. While salivating over its looks is the only option for us since Honda isn’t bringing it to India, the neo-retro model has a sporty sibling in the country, the Honda Hornet 2.0. We compare the two via a series of images:
On the aesthetic front, the two Hondas are poles apart. The CBF190TR features retro cues, such as a round headlight with vertically stacked projector units, a ribbed seat, and an overall bulky bodywork. Meanwhile, the Hornet 2.0 Repsol Edition gets a sleek LED headlight with DRLs and an edgy design.

The Honda CBF190TR Special Edition is powered by a 184.4cc air-cooled unit belting out 16.85PS and 16.3Nm, whereas its sporty cousin houses the same motor while making 17.26PS and 16.1Nm.
On the feature front, both the Honda motorcycles are pretty barebone with just a digital LCD console and LED illumination. With that being said, Honda aims to introduce the Bluetooth connectivity feature in the near future and the Hornet 2.0 will likely receive the update.
Suspension duties are handled by a front fork and a rear monoshock for the Honda CBF190TR Special Edition as well as the Hornet 2.0 Repsol Edition. But the latter gets more bling with a golden-finished fork.
The two bikes are anchored by single discs at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard.
The CBF190TR gets a smaller 10.5-litre fuel tank, compared to the Hornet 2.0’s 12-litre unit.
Honda offers the CBF190TR at Rs 2.02 lakh in China whereas the Honda Hornet 2.0 Repsol Edition retails at Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
