Japanese bike maker Honda has unveiled the CB150R Streetfire motorcycle at the Jakarta Motorcycle Show. Honda has announced that this new motorcycle is meant exclusively for Asian markets and will be launched in Indonesia soon. The CB150R Streetfire is the naked version of the Honda CBR150R; however it seems to draw some styling inspiration from the CB Dazzler as well. It features the same 150cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine, which produces a peak power output of 17.6bhp at 10,500rpm and peak torque output of 12.66Nm at 8500rpm, which comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Honda CB150R has the same telescopic forks at the front and linked suspension at the rear like the CBR150R. The Honda CB150R Streetfire was showcased in 4 colors at the show – white, black, tricolor and orange (with accessories). Naked Sport bikes are doing pretty well all over the world these days. There are some Naked Sports bikes available in the Indian markets as well and are doing reasonably good business, therefore we are expecting that Honda will launch this bike in India as well. Honda CBR150R is already available in Indian market but its astounding price tag limits its sales.
However, the lack of full fairing and other expensive styling elements makes the CB150R Streetfire least expensive than the CBR150R. Thus, if Honda decides to bring in the CB150R Streetfire on the Indian roads, it might do wonders for the Honda same as the Pulsar 200 NS and KTM Duke 200. If the bike launches in India, it might have a price tag of Rs. 1 lakh making it a tough competitor of KTM Duke 200 and Pulsar 200 NS.
