Honda has patented and trademarked the 2023 iteration of the 250cc faired bike in India yet again, but its arrival to showrooms is still another story

Honda India is at it again, making us drool gleefully like an infant over its recent bike trademarks. The most recent one is the Honda CBR250RR, which has gone even more aggressive and sporty for its 2023 iteration. This is the second time Honda has patented the design of the bike here; the first time was back in 2017.

With a sharp and gorgeous body design and aggressive styling, the CBR250RR looks right out of a dream, and flaunts a twin fascia-mounted LED headlight unit. It features everything a hardcore supersport would: high-rise fuel tank, split saddle with raised pillion seat, and a fairly aerodynamic full fairing.

WIth a 249cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor, the CBR250RR makes a whopping 42PS and 25Nm. The figures were bumped up in the 2022 update along with a bunch of upgraded hardware. Head here for more details on the same.

Now to the sad part: no, Honda is unlikely to launch the CBR250RR in our market despite trademarking it here repeatedly. This is actually a common practice that manufacturers follow in order to easily secure the legal rights to product names. This is similar to what Honda has done with the CL300 Scrambler recently, and the Forza 350 as well as the ADV350 maxi-scooter earlier, and you might recall that none of them ever made their way here.

Realistically speaking, Honda’s next offering in the Indian market will be a cruiser iteration of the CB350 series. Head here for more details. Additionally, the Japanese bikemaker is set to launch an electric two-wheeler by 2024.
