The much-anticipated middleweight sportbike, Honda CBR650F was recently spotted doing rounds on the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida, U.P. Though some sources reveal that the bike was shooting for some commercial ad, the absence of any official logos make us believe that the bike was undergoing final test run and could be finally launched in couple of months.
Honda CBR650F is powered by a 649cc, in-line four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 87bhp of power with 63Nm of torque and uses six-speed transmission setup. Unlike earlier CBR’s, this one employs a sharply designed single headlamp section. Bolted on a twin-spar steel frame, the bike comes fitted with a 41mm telescopic fork up front and a mono-shock at the rear. The braking system comprises of 310mm disc brake with twin-piston calliper at the front and 240mm disc brake with a single piston calliper at the rear, including ABS as a standard feature.
The bike will be assembled locally at the company’s production facility in Manesar which will bring a friendly price tag with the bike. With this, Honda CBR650F will become the first performance bike by Honda to come via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. The Japanese 650cc super sports will lock its horns against Kawasaki Ninja 650, Benelli BN600GT and Hyosung GT650R. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
