The Japanese cafe racer is absolutely gorgeous from every angle! Here’s a closer look:
Honda has unveiled a new neo-retro cafe racer, the Honda Hawk 11, at the Honda Motorcycle Show 2022. This is the Japanese manufacturer’s cafe racer derivative based on the 1,082cc parallel-twin engine platform that’s shared with the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, and later, the Rebel 1100. Take a closer look at the bike’s details in images:
The Honda Hawk 11 features a distinctive-looking circular all-LED headlight with an aerodynamically designed rocket cowl - a design element that’s quintessentially cafe racer.
The motorcycle comes with a set of low clip-on handlebars and underslung rearview mirrors for a sporty appeal.

The contoured single-piece seat and the rear-set footpegs, coupled with the low handlebars, ensure an aggressive riding stance. There seem to be adequate tank recesses for knee grip too.
The motorcycle is equipped with a circular, fully digital LCD instrument cluster. It doesn’t seem to have smartphone-enabled navigation, though. Notable features include multiple riding modes, traction control, and engine immobiliser.
Powering the motorcycle is a 1,082cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine with a six-speed manual. The output figures have yet to be revealed. But for perspective, the Africa Twin churns out 102PS and 105Nm. On the other hand, the Rebel 1100 produces 64PS and 98Nm. Expect the Hawk to be tuned differently too.
The bike’s upswept blacked-out exhaust looks sleek and features twin vertically stacked outlets. As you can see, Honda has routed the exhaust in a way that doesn’t affect the motorcycle’s cornering clearance.
The Hawk 11 is built on a semi-double cradle frame linked to an inverted front fork and a rear monoshock. It rolls on 17-inch alloys wrapped with road-biased rubber. For optimum braking power, it also gets twin front discs (with Nissin radial calipers) and a disc at the rear.
All in all, the Honda Hawk 11 has all the makings of a proper modern cafe racer topped with gorgeous neoteric elements, and is reminiscent of the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR. More details of the Japanese cafe racer will be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
