Honda Ten10 Racing Academy Launched in Bengaluru

It is the first racing academy to be introduced by a two-wheeler manufacturer in India. 11 sessions have been planned by the Academy for 2016-17
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has tied-up with Ten10 Racing, a professional racing team, to start the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy in India. The inaugural session of the academy was held at the Meco Kartopia track in Bengaluru. The session witnessed participation from 20 passionate riders, who were provided training through theory lectures followed by practical on-track sessions.
Honda Ten10 racing Academy will offer an inlet for novice Indian riders into the exhilarating world of motorsports. It will give them the necessary backing to get a step-closer to achieving their dream of becoming a professional racer in two-wheel motorsport. It will also allow enthusiasts to learn and practice racing in a safe environment. HMSI is the first Indian manufacturer to have a racing academy in the country, informed a press release.
Honda Racing Team provided the race spec motorcycles for the Level 1 training programme, along with the necessary technical support and racing equipment. The beginner riders were provided the CBR 150R while the experienced riders were allocated the CBR 250R.
The first session of the Honda Ten 10 Racing academy had participants aged from 17 years up to 30 years. Besides Bengaluru, the academy had the riders from different cities like Ambala, Guwahati, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mysore. After this heartening response, Honda Ten 10 Racing Academy has now announced 11 more sessions in the 2016-17 period.
The management of the entire program was handled by Ramji Govindarajan who is the chief trainer at Honda Ten10 Racing Academy. The Academy also boasts the expertise of Sarath Kumar, India’s first Moto 3 rider and only Indian representative at the prestigious international Asia Road Racing Championship 2016. Other trainers at the academy include Vinath Kannan (National Racing Champion) and Mathana Kumar (multiple Honda One Make Race Champion).
