Honda to amalgamate HSCI and HMSI in India

Honda Motor Corporation, the Japanese auto cos, is aiming to build up its various stocks and merging its two automotive brands in Indian automotive industry, Honda Motor Scooters and India Ltd. (HMSI) and Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) into a single unit. HMSI is basically a two wheeler subsidiary of Honda Motor Corporation of the Japanese firm in India and on the other hand HSCI basically deals in passenger cars and is a joint venture of Honda Motors and Shriram Industrial Enterprise Ltd (SIEL).
The Japanese auto major, Honda Motor Corporation, first entered in Indian automotive market in 1984 via Joint venture course. It first collaborated with Hero India group and formed a company christened Hero Honda. In December 2010 Honda broke up its alliance with Hero and sold its entire stake to domestic auto giant Hero India. The company is working with a name of Hero MotoCorp. Beside this, Honda India also had collaborations with Kinetic Honda which first started in 1985 with the firm name Kinetic Honda Motors Ltd. The Japanese subsidiary in India ended the joint venture in 1999 and formed fully owned subsidiary HMSI in August 1999. Currently Honda Motor Scooters and India Ltd. (HMSI) have 14 products in India and aiming to launch more in near future. Honda India also planning to launch new variants of Honda CBR in Indian automotive industry to compete against KTM Duke, Bajaj Pulsar 220 etc.
