Recently, Honda released the first official picture of its 250cc concept bike. According to the reports, the company is planning to showcase this quarter-litre twin cylinder concept motorcycle during the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. With this, Honda’s upcoming bike will rival the likes of Yamaha YZF-R25 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Though the Japanese two-wheeler giant has not revealed much information, but while taking a closer look, it was evident that the motorcycle will be powered by a parallel-twin engine. The two exhaust manifold mold into a single unit, finishing off with an Akrapovic exhaust system. Its aggressive riding position and the lack of a rear seat hints track-biased approach of the bike. The front wheel of the bike rides on USD forks, unlike the conventional telescopic ones of the current CBR250R.

Honda claims that the key to its design is “Strong Presence”. This next-gen concept features a look that has a sense of speed, quite noticeable from its long nose and low crouching position. It has a combination of plane architecture that indicates the sense of ruggedness and solidity while its sharp edges emphasize the aggressive look.

Honda already has a quarter-litre motorcycle in its lineup, but with the arrival of Yamaha YZF-R25, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC390, Honda’s single-cylinder CBR250R became obsolete. Hence, it’s high time for the Honda to put its best foot forward with a new quarter-litre machine to go up against the new age machines.
