Honda’s Cute Little E-Scooters Patented In India

The retro-styled scooters have already been launched in China earlier this year
First launched in the 1960s, the Honda Dax and Cub have served the Chinese and European markets tirelessly. And since Honda was in no mood to discontinue these retro scooters, it gave them an electric touch and launched the Dax e: and Zoomer e: in an electric avatar in China earlier this year.

Now with the Indian EV space growing at a rapid pace with new EV launches almost every day, Honda has filed a patent for the Dax e: and Zoomer e: in India. The e-Scooters come packed with many modern-day features like a retro-style round LED headlight, LCD display and disc brakes at both ends.
The scooters are powered by a Bosch Hub motor with a top speed of 25kmph and come with a range of 80 km. The Dax e: also has pedals in case you run out of juice. With their lightweight frame and fun-to-ride characteristics, these e-Scooters can be interesting for short journeys. And they might be game changers, especially for the B-to-B segment in India.
That said, we are not too sure about these e-Scooters coming to India, as the electric Activa is Honda India’s primary focus. We anticipate that this move has been done primarily to secure the Zoomer e: and Dax e: names and designs in India. But you never know…
