The Japanese auto giant Kawasaki is planning aggressively to play solo in the Indian market. After launching 4 high end superbikes in just around five months, the company is planning to launch a mid weight super naked bike next month. Yes! Kawasaki Z800 is expected to be launched in January 2014.
The Z800 is a naked machine, designed using the company's “Sugomi” approach to represent it as the wildest bike in the segment. The bike sports a 806cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled inline four, which churns out a maximum power of 113bhp @10,200rpm and a peak torque of 83Nm @8,000rpm. The fuel injected engine delivers the power to the rear wheel using a open type chain drive, via a six-speed transmission box.
Apart from the masculine and aggressive appearance, the bike has gone through multiple technological advancements like economical riding indicator and ECU-controlled dual throttle valves, which contributes to increase the fuel economy as well as power output. It uses 41mm inverted forks at the front and single shock hydraulic suspension with piggyback reservoir on the rear aluminium swing-arm. Front wheel boasts 310mm dual petal disc brakes, while the rear wheel receives a 250mm petal disc.
The bike will be imported en-route CBU and expected to be priced around Rs. 8.5 lakh.
