Lohia Machinery Limited or formerly known as LML is an Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, which stopped all its Indian retail operations long ago. However, they are doing well with their scooters in International markets. LML Star gave a notable appearance at 2012 EICMA motorshow in Milan, where the company showcased their range of scooters, including the LML Star Light along with the newly introduced Star 125cc 4T Automatica.
The LML scooters were attracting visitors due to their cute, bright coloured, retro-inspired appearance. The scooters don't just look good, have plenty of options as well when it comes to the engine. LML Star Light range has engine options ranging from 50cc to 125cc in the 2-stroke segment and from 125cc to 200cc in the 4-stroke segment, all of these come mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The Star 125cc 4T Automatica, which made its international debut at the show, is powered by a 4-stroke, 125cc engine mated to a variator (automatic) transmission. The Star 125cc 4T Automatica is the first automatic scooter from LML. The styling of the scooter is very retro, keeping the signature styling of Star Deluxe range of scooters.
The 4T Automatica is powered by a 4-stroke, 125cc engine capable of producing a peak power output of 9bhp at 8000rpm. The Variator transmission of the scooter has been provided by Adler, the famous German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer.
The scooter offers a good fuel efficiency somewhere around 45kmpl, which proves it a good day-to-day commuter. The scooter comes with 7-litre fuel tank but scores a bit low, when it comes to its storage area. LML denies to comment, on the Indian launch of its scooter range, but we wish that they reintroduce their range in India.
