From an updated engine to new suspension, the baby CeeBee receives a thorough update
- Power up by almost 2PS.
- New DOHC engine is Euro 5 compliant.
- Gets new Showa Separate Function Big Piston Forks.
Honda has unveiled as many as four updated models including the India-bound CB1000R. While the flagship streetfighter got all the limelight, the smallest of the CB range, the CB125R too has been thoroughly updated for 2021.
The biggest highlight of the updated baby CeeBee is the new engine which is now a 124.9cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 15PS at 10,000rpm and 11.6Nm at 8,000rpm. Power has shot up by almost 2PS and to achieve this, the engine features a longer stroke-- the bore and stroke now stand at 57.3mm x 48.4mm, instead of 58mm x 47.2mm. The resultant compression ratio is slightly higher too, at 11.3:1. Honda has also added a new inlet duct, air cleaner connector tube, and resonator.
The updates don’t end there. The 2021 CB125R now features beefy 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston Forks, which the brand claims to be a segment-first. The rest of the equipment continues to remain the same with a 296mm disc paired with a four-pot Nissin caliper handling the braking duties at the front and a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear. The bike retains the IMU-controlled ABS system, also seen on the CB300R.
The bike is unlikely to come here, but with BigWing India’s aggressive expansion plan, we will surely have some exciting launches in the near future.
