Okinawa has launched the R30 electric scooter at Rs 58,992. The R30 low-speed electric scooter’s bodywork is similar to the Okinawa Ridge but it is priced almost Rs 15,000 less than the high-speed scooter. The new R30 electric scooter can be pre-booked for Rs 2,000 at Okinawa dealerships.
The Okinawa R30 comes in five new colours: Pearl White, Glossy Red, Metallic Orange, Sea Green and Sunrise Yellow. Its low 735mm seat height is easily accessible to shorter riders. The scooter gets apron-mounted halogen headlamp with DRLs and turn indicators mounted on the handlebar. While it misses out on LED lighting, the R30 gets a digital instrument console.
The low-speed scooter is powered by a 250-watt BLDC electric hub motor. It has a peak power output of 250-watt that helps the R30 reach a top speed of 25kmph. Power comes from a 1.25kWh lithium-ion battery pack which you can charge from your home or office via a micro charger. The battery pack takes 4 to 5 hours to charge using a household electric socket. The R30 electric scooter offers a claimed range of 60km.
The R30 gets a conventional suspension in the form of telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers. It gets 10-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Braking is via drum brakes at both ends. Besides, the Okinawa R30 also gets e-ABS and regenerative braking.
The Okinawa R30 competes with other low-speed electric scooters such as the Benling Kriti, Lohia Oma Star, Avan Xero Plus and Techno Electra Neo.
