The Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer, Eicher group's firm Royal Enfield has stopped fresh booking of its Royal Enfield Bullet Classic in India till end of this year. The company's plans to increase its production capacity over 100,000 a year by 2012 and a growth of 67 percent from the 60,000 bikes, it targets to make in 2010. The muscular 500cc bike made its entry in India last year after its debut in European and US market in October 2008. The company displayed its all new motorcycles at Delhi Auto Expo 2010. Royal Enfield Bullet classic 350cc received 2,000 orders far in overflow of what the company had projected. Around 3,000 customers have ordered for the classic 500. While booking for the classic 500 bike are still open, due to long waiting list deliveries can take up to six months. Royal Enfield produces 300 motorcycles of each section for the domestic market per month at Thiruvottiyur factory in Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, Europe and US are exported 350 bikes a month. The company has also beefed-up its number of dealers to 160 across the country. "We are preparing steady improvements in terms of infrastructure, processes and manpower to improve our production," the spokeswoman said. Royal Enfield has benefited hugely from this superbikes trend. An Indians growth take to biking for pleasure, sales of premium bikes have increased quickly. On the other hand, India Yamaha Motor is going to launch its two new premium bikes- Yamaha SZ and Yamaha YZF R125. Apart from it, TVS Motor has launched Wego scooter in the Indian auto market recently.
