Suzuki Gixxer BS6 Unveiled At Auto Expo 2020

Expect Suzuki to announce the prices soon

• Apart from minor mechanical changes, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same. 
• The BS6-compliant 155cc engine now makes 0.5PS and 0.2Nm less than before.  
• Bookings for the BS6 Gixxer are underway.

Suzuki is slightly late to the BS6 party, but it chose India’s biggest motoring event to unveil the BS6-compliant Gixxer. We expect Suzuki to announce the price of the BS6-compliant Gixxer soon as the bike maker has already started accepting bookings. 

Before you leave comments saying, ‘It still looks the same’, we would like to inform you that the BS6-compliant Gixxer received a massive cosmetic update last year. So it doesn’t make sense for the Japanese bike maker to update the motorcycle again. Mechanically, it remains the same as the older model. The 2019 Gixxer was already BS6-ready, so there wasn’t much work needed for the new Gixxer anyway. The updated 155cc motor makes 13.6PS and 13.8Nm of torque -- 0.5PS and 0.2Nm less than the older model. Apart from the motor, the rest of the motorcycle is the same as before. So it gets a 41mm fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS offered as an extra safety net

Besides the new 155cc BS6-compliant Gixxer, Suzuki has also unveiled the BS6 Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 at the Auto Expo 2020.
