Following the launch of the Bonneville Street Twin at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, Triumph Motorcycles has now launched this model in Mumbai. It has been priced at Rs. 7,21,710 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The motorcycle is powered by an all new 900cc, 8-valve, parallel twin engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a slip assist clutch. This ‘high torque’ mill produces a maximum torque of 80Nm at just 3,200rpm. The bike is being offered with three custom kits so that the rider can customize the machine as per his personality.
Speaking about launch of the new Bonneville Street Twin in Mumbai, Vimal Sumbly, MD, Triumph Motorcycles India, was quoted saying, “Modern classics are becoming more and more popular since people today are looking for character, style and fun. We are extremely thrilled to launch the motorcycles in the Mumbai market as it is one of the most mature cities for riders and biking enthusiasts. We have some of the most committed riding patrons from Mumbai who never fall short of exhibiting their loyalty of the brand Triumph. This is more motivating for us to give only the best to our customers. The Street Twin selected for India is a result of the feedback we received directly from our customers and are very sure of its success within the Mumbai market.”
Amar Seth, Dealer Principal, Shaman Triumph said, “The Street Twin will definitely do great in Mumbai with its lethal combination of powerful performance and dynamic handling. With great weekend destinations around Mumbai, the city has no dearth of passionate riders and biking communities. The all-rounder Street Twin would be an instant favourite among the riders here.”
Getting certain updates over the previous model, the Street Twin now delivers 18% more torque and now comes with features like ride-by-wire technology, traction control, LED rear light, charging socket, engine immobiliser and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). This offering from the Bonneville range will battle with the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 in the Indian market.
