If you are not impressed with the Triumph Scrambler 400 X and its price tag, here are a few alternatives to consider
The Triumph Scrambler 400 X has been a highly-anticipated bike since it was unveiled a few months ago and now Triumph has just launched it with a price tag of Rs 2.63 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). But if you are on the fence about whether its worth the price and would like to look at other options before deciding, then here are five alternatives worth considering:
BMW G 310 R - 2,90,000
For a similar price tag as that of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, you can buy the most affordable BMW available, the G 310 R. It is powered by a 313cc, single-cylinder engine producing 34PS and 28Nm. The G 310 R is a very versatile streetfighter with a lively engine and has the ability to handle corners very well.
TVS Apache RTR 310 - Rs 2,63,990 (Fury Yellow)
Launched a month ago, the TVS Apache RTR 310’s prices start from Rs 2,42,990 (without the quickshifter) and eventually go up to Rs 3.04 lakh if you add the Dynamic Kit and the Dynamic Pro Kit that unlocks the full range of features like climate-controlled seat, wheelie control and more. It is powered by a 312.7cc, reverse-inclined, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 35.6PS and 27Nm.
TVS Apache RR 310 - Rs 2,72,000
The RTR 310’s fully-faired sibling, the RR 310 has been around for some time now. But it is still a very capable supersport bike that gets the same engine as the RTR 310 with a different engine tuning setup. It has a good balance of rideability, performance and handling capabilities. And if you can get it to your nearest racetrack, then the Apache RR 310 truly comes alive.
TVS X - Rs 2,49,990
TVS’s newest electric offering, the X is quite a looker with those sharp lines and aggressive maxi-scooter styling. It gets a 7kW motor with a peak power output of 11kW and gets a claimed 0-40kmph time of 2.6 seconds! It is India’s electric scooter to get ABS and is absolutely packed with features. If you are looking for a truly sporty electric scooter and have a budget of Rs 2,49,990, then the TVS X is the one to go for.
KTM 390 Adventure X - Rs 2,80,652 (all prices ex-showroom)
The KTM 390 Adventure is a good option to consider if you are looking for an adventure motorcycle that you can go touring with. And the 390 Adventure X, which doesn’t get any rider aids like traction control and cornering ABS, is a better option if you are an experienced rider as it allows one to have complete control over the bike when hitting the trails without the electronics intervening during the experience.
