Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm and Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen Editions Launched In India

The Scrambler 900 Sandstorm is priced at Rs 9.65 lakh, whereas the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition retails at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom India)

• The Scrambler 900 Sandstorm and Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen are limited to only 775 and 1000 units worldwide, respectively. 
• These special edition variants get an exclusive colour scheme along with a bunch of standard accessory fitments.
• They also come with a specially signed certificate of ownership.
• Expect Triumph to launch the standard versions in the coming months.

Triumph India has launched the Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm edition and the Street Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition in the country at Rs 9,65,000 and Rs 13,75,000, respectively. Only the special edition variants are available for now, but we expect Triumph to introduce the standard variants -- Street Scrambler 900 and Scrambler 1200 XC -- in the coming months. The base-spec Street Scrambler 900 will likely cost around Rs 9 lakh, whereas the Scrambler 1200 XC could retail at around Rs 11 lakh-11.25 lakh. 

The Triumph Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm edition is limited to just 775 units worldwide. It features a beak-type front fender, a headlight grille, a unique Matt Storm Grey colour scheme, aluminium sump guard, and a rear fender removal kit -- all as standard. On the other hand, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition is essentially the higher-spec Scrambler 1200 XE variant, but with a unique ‘Competition Green’ colour scheme, an old-school Triumph logo on the fuel tank, and the Steve McQueen-themed tank graphics. The motorcycle also comes with a standard high-set front fender, an engine crash guard, an upmarket ribbed brown bench seat with premium stitching, and MyTriumph smartphone connectivity. The two motorcycles also come with a specially signed ‘Special Edition’ certificate of ownership for that element of exclusivity. Speaking at the launch, Shoeb Farooq, Business Head, Triumph Motorcycles India, said, “We’re glad to bring the Steve McQueen and Sandstorm edition Scramblers to India. These motorcycles have a legacy – especially the Steve McQueen edition. Given that it is based on the all-new Scrambler 1200 XE, further adds to the appeal of the motorcycles, as these will be the only XE variants to come to Indian shores this year.”

The Street Scrambler 900 Sandstorm edition competes with the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled (Rs 10.89 lakh), whereas the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen edition goes up against the more road-biased Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro Sport (Rs 13.74 lakh). All prices ex-showroom India.
