Launched in February, Triumph has received 100 bookings of the Street Twin motorcycle in two months. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 6.9 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Triumph Motorcycles India has received a heartening response for its new Bonneville range that was launched at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The company has bagged more than 100 bookings of the Bonneville Street Twin, priced at Rs 6.9 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), within a period of two months.
The Street Twin is an all-new motorcycle that has been built from ground up and is in rhyme with the original Bonneville styling. It receives a host of features with modern necessities like ABS, traction control, assisted slipper clutch, Ride-by-Wire, gear indicator, USB socket and engine immobiliser; making it an ideal modern retro motorcycle. On the design front, the bike has a short front mudguard accompanied by a small fuel tank. The seat is flat and ends with a small yet well-finished tail section. The motorcycle gets multi-spoked alloy wheels that further accentuate the retro look.
Providing motive force to the Street Twin is an all-new 900cc liquid cooled twin-mill that is capable of producing 55PS and 80Nm of peak torque when mated to a six-speed gearbox. Although the power figures are lower than the previous version, the new Street Twin has more usable power and an impressive 18 per cent increase in torque rating.
In the growing market of premium motorcycles, Triumph had marked its entry in the Indian market in 2014 and has been successful in creating a space of its own ever since. The Street Twin is the highest selling model of the brand, followed by the adventure tourer Tiger 800 series.
