Take a look at TVS’ stunning flagship motorcycle, now launched with cleaner emissions and a whole load of new features!
TVS has launched the BS6 Apache RR 310 today. Priced at Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the motorcycle commands a premium of just Rs 12,000 over the BS4 counterpart, which is pretty commendable considering the number of features it gets. Let’s take a closer look at the bike, shall we?
Externally, the TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 looks pretty similar to the BS4 version. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing because even the BS4-compliant motorcycle looks pretty gorgeous. However, you get an all-new Titanium Black colour, which comes with a gloss-black and matte grey dual-tone layout with red highlights.
If you take a closer look, you’ll realise the windshield has been redesigned and looks slightly more angular than the previous-generation model.
One of the biggest changes is the 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. It is capable of pairing with a smartphone via Bluetooth and will help the rider access functions like call accept/ reject, ride statistics, view riding modes, vehicle stats, among others.
The BS4 TVS Apache RR 310 featured only two buttons flanking the LCD instrument cluster for menu navigation. It was a bit cumbersome to use and now TVS has equipped the BS6 model with directional buttons on the left switchgear along with a hazard lamp button. This should help the rider go through the menus easily.
The motorcycle gets a new engine kill/ignition switch. The switchgear casing houses a ride-by-wire throttle. This has allowed TVS to equip the bike with multiple riding modes.
The BS6-compliant motorcycle offers the same 34PS power and 27.3Nm torque as before. But more importantly, the bike now gets four riding modes: Rain, Urban, Sport and Race. Under Sport and Race, you’ll be able to utilise the full power and torque, whereas the output figures are reduced to 25.8PS and 25Nm under Rain and Urban modes.
While the braking hardware has remained unchanged, the sensitivity and intrusiveness of the dual-channel ABS vary depending on the riding modes. It is the most intrusive in Rain mode and the least intrusive in Race.
Suspension hardware on both ends remain unchanged but TVS has tweaked them to offer different damping characteristics.
Another big addition is the new Michelin Road 5, W-rated tyres. These offer better grip than the Michelin Pilot Street in the BS4-compliant motorcycle.
At 810mm, the motorcycle’s seat height has remained unchanged compared to the BS4 model. However, the kerb weight has gone up by 4.5kg, at 174kg.
