- The new scooter was spotted testing at TVS’s hometown, Hosur.

- Could get a non-removable battery; offer a range of 80km.
- It is expected to be feature-packed as well.
TVS has announced on its social media channels that it will be launching an electric two-wheeler soon. The bikemaker has also announced that it will be introducing a new product on January 25. The teaser shows a glimpse of a scooter, so we believe that TVS will launch an electric scooter this week.
TVS has been working on an electric scooter for a while now. It was first unveiled as the Creon electric scooter concept at Auto Expo 2018 and since then, its test mules have been spotted close to TVS’s manufacturing facility in Hosur.
The new electric scooter is expected to carry the Jupiter’s bulbous design but appears to get a sporty front apron like the NTorq 125 or Honda Dio. We expect the electric scooter to offer performance comparable to conventional 110cc scooters. That said, the test mule seemed to have sprightly acceleration, so TVS might just surprise us when it comes to performance.

The electric scooter is expected to get a non-removable battery just like the Bajaj Chetak. The Creon concept claimed to have a range of 80km, so expect the new scooter to offer the same, if not more. While the concept featured fast-charging capability, it remains to be seen if TVS equips the new scooter with the same technology.
In terms of pricing, we expect the new electric scooter to be priced close to the Bajaj Chetak’s Rs 1 lakh ex-showroom price. How close? The answer will be revealed this Saturday. So stay tuned!
