Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bengaluru-based startup, announced that they have attained global certification under the ‘United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)’ regulation for the F77 Mach 2. This regulation allows Ultraviolette to sell their bikes in more than 40 countries, including those in Europe. They have also received the L3e certification, which gives the Ultraviolette F77 an approval for road use across 40 countries worldwide which also includes the European Union. When certified under the UNECE L3e category, the F77 Mach 2 is now approved for road use to A1 and A2 license holders. The A1 license holders can ride any motorcycle without any restrictions  while the A2 license holders can only ride bikes with maximum 47PS.

The European-spec Ultraviolette Mach 2 is the same as the one available in India. It is available in two variants: F77 Mach 2 and the F77 Mach 2 Recon. The Recon is the higher variant which gets a 10.3kWh battery capacity which allows for a peak power of 40PS and 100Nm. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in a claimed 7.7 seconds. The standard variant gets a 7.1kWh battery pack which makes 36PS and 90Nm, and will do 0-100kmph in a claimed 7.8 seconds.

The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 will soon be available in Germany and Turkey as the shipments are underway and will reach their shores soon. Talking about the price, Ultraviolette has set an introductory price of EUR 9,990 which roughly translates to Rs 9 lakh. For reference, the F77 Mach 2 Recon is available in India for Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), this makes the motorcycle a better value-for-money product in India. Ultraviolette has not confirmed as to how long this introductory price will last for. So if you are looking for a sporty electric bike and are based out of Europe, Ultraviolette is a motorcycle you should consider.
