This month is set to be packed with tons of launches from diverse brands catering to different segments
Last month witnessed a slew of new bike launches and things are set to be action-packed this month too. There’s something interesting for almost every kind of enthusiast under a wide range of budget, ranging from commuter bikes to large-capacity terrain tamers. Here’s what we can expect:
Royal Enfield Meteor 350
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is one of the most anticipated motorcycles from the brand in the recent past. Its launch has been getting delayed due to the pandemic but things are looking a lot more promising this time around. Recently, the bike’s variants and colour scheme details were leaked online. You can read all about them here.
Hero Xtreme 200S, XPulse 200T BS6
The BS6-compliant versions of the Hero Xtreme 200S and XPulse 200T have been pending launch for quite some time now, and we're hoping the bikemaker launches them this month. Like the XPulse, expect the Hero XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S to get an additional oil cooler for better thermal efficiency. But apart from this, they are unlikely to come with any additional tangible features in their BS6 guises.
TVS Victor BS6
The TVS Victor is the last two-wheeler from the brand that is yet to be updated to comply with BS6 emission norms, and we expect the brand to launch it this month. The Hosur-based brand could equip the scooter with useful features in the form of Glide Through Technology (low speed assist), LED headlamp and some cosmetic updates. If we’re lucky, TVS might just upgrade the bike with a 125cc engine to make it a better proposition, overall.
BS6 BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS & R 18
BMW Motorrad has already teased the BS6-compliant versions of the G 310 twins and pre-bookings are also officially open. Expect the bikemaker to launch the motorcycles real soon. As far as the feature list and pricing are concerned, check this out for the G 310 R and head here to know more about the G 310 GS.
Apart from these two motorcycles, BMW Motorrad will also be launching the R 18 cruiser in the country. However, this will be a proper import and is expected to be priced at a hefty premium.
Aprilia SXR160, Vespa Racing 60s
The pandemic has also pushed the launch of the Aprilia SXR160, but with the economy slowly stabilising now, the maxi-scooter could be launched sometime this month. More importantly, its sister company Vespa is all set to launch the Racing Sixties today, in fact, in a few hours from now.
Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT
Suzuki sent out a teaser of the V-Strom 650XT BS6 back in May, but the bike is yet to be launched. We hope the current economic scenario is viable enough for Suzuki to take the plunge. The Japanese brand had already unveiled the motorcycle back at Auto Expo 2020. It is likely to command a premium of around Rs 30,000 over the BS4-compliant version, which retailed at Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom India).
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade
Honda is all set to launch its flagship supersport, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade this month. Official bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced. The motorcycle gets a ton of MotoGP-derived bleeding-edge technology but all those futuristic bits command a hefty price tag.
Ducati Multistrada 950 BS6
Ducati is likely to launch its second BS6-compliant motorcycle, the Multistrada 950, this month. The Euro 5-compliant version is already available in the international market, so the Italian bikemaker shouldn’t have much trouble bringing the bike to our shores. Expect the Multistrada 950 to be available in both standard and spoke-wheeled variants. It is likely to command a price of around Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.7 lakh over its predecessor.
