The renown Italian motorcycle manufacturer- Ducati has already launched its 2014 Monster 821 Internationally at an starting U.S. price of $10,995. The bike looks identical to its elder sibling- 2014 Ducati Monster 1200 S and gets the new 821cc Testrastetta engine. Performance of the bike is much better than the Monster 796 and it is also equipped with some more advanced features.
Here we are presenting a complete image gallery of the 2014 Ducati Monster along with its key features and specifications.
The Monster Appearance: As we mentioned that the 2014 Monster 821 is inspired by the Monster 1200 in the terms of appearance. Aggressiveness reflects in every part of the bike, which makes it the most brutal machine in the respective segment. The bike gets a masculine fuel tank with bold headlamp and a naked trellis frame painted in the body colour. The 10-spoke alloys gel well with the design and the single sided dual exhaust enhances the sportiness of the machine.
The Monster Power: The new Testrastetta 11° engine has been designed as an integral part of the frame, which helps to reduce the vibrations. The 821cc L-twin gets a mapping structure with a secondary air induction system like the 1199 Panigale. The system has been introduced in order to optimise operation and reduce combustion cycle variability, without affecting emissions.
In addition, the air filter and exhaust system have been designed to provide improved torque at low-medium engine speeds. The 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder and liquid cooling helps the engine to deliver 112bhp of raw power at 9,250rpm and the torque goes upto 89.4Nm at 7,750rpm.
Advanced Ducati Safety: The new Monster Ducati 821 comes equipped with the latest Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), which combines a 9MP multi-calibration ABS and 8-level Ducati Traction Control (DTC). It also offers three pre-set riding modes- Urban, Touring and Sport, which can be selected using a button provided on the handlebar.
Detailed Instrumentation: The 2014 Ducati Monster 821 gets a multi-function digital dashboard with white backlight. It is composed of LCD segments for rev counter and a Dot-Matrix area for all other information including odometer (total, trip 1 and trip2), speedometer, clock, coolant temperature, selected riding mode, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, average speed, air temperature, trip time, maintenance intervals indicator (Km), errors detection (diagnosis), setup menu and customization functions.
There is Interface provided in the dash board for the safety features and signaling devices including ABS, throttle response power, traction control). Lights: oil pressure, neutral N, fuel warning, turn signal, EOBD (diagnosis), high beam, DTC intervention (Traction Control) and deterrent immobilizer (in Key-Off). Headlight features auto switching-off during engine start and auto turning-off after 60 seconds from Key-On without starting the engine. Switches are provided on the left and right sides of the handlebar to control the various function menus of the bike.
