Ather might just price this variant attractively to compete with the likes of the Ola S1 and the TVS iQube S
We have managed to spot Ather testing out a heavily camouflaged 450X in Bengaluru, right alongside an un-camoued 450X. The test mule could be a more affordable version of the scooter that Ather might be priming for a launch later this year or early next year.

Ather 450s have been pricey. The e-scooter, in its many avatars so far, has been able to justify its premium price tag with heart-pleasing performance and innovative features. However, with the Ola S1 and the TVS iQube managing to offer nearabout the same performance capabilities and range while not skimping on features, Ather might’ve been prompted to do something about it.
So, this affordable 450–let’s just call it that–will likely have the same bodywork, chassis, and hardware. Where it will compromise slightly is with the battery capacity. Perhaps, Ather could roll back and provide the smaller battery pack from the Gen-2 scooter. This would reduce the range by a small amount and performance would also be a little less.
We couldn’t spot any visual difference on the scooter. So, a visual update is out of the question.
Ather would ideally price this lower trim around the Rs 1.25 lakh mark, making it Rs 10,000 more affordable than the 450 Plus.
