Booked Current Gen Ather 450X But Want The New Model? There Is Good News For You

Updated 450X and 450 Plus will get more range and better performance

We recently broke news that Ather Energy is working on launching updated versions of the 450X and 450 Plus, which will result in the e-scooters offering better range and performance. If you are someone who has already booked a model from the current generation Ather 450 range but wants the newer one, then there is good news for you.

According to our dealer friends, customers who have booked the current generation Ather 450X and 450 Plus can convert their bookings to the upcoming models without any hassle. However, the next-generation versions of the e-scooters are likely to command a premium of around Rs 5,000 over the current models.

So, customers who wish to go ahead with the purchase will have to pay more than what they initially intended. Currently, the Ather 450X and 450 Plus retail at Rs 1,38,006 and Rs 1,18,996 (ex-showroom Delhi including Fame II and State subsidies), respectively.

The updated models will be getting a higher capacity 3.66kWh battery pack, as opposed to the current 2.9kWh unit. This will increase the claimed IDC range of the 450X to 146km, and the 450 Plus to 108km. 

The updated scooters will also witness a 0.4kW bump in power, rated at 6.4kW on the Ather 450X and 5.8kW on the 450 Plus. This should make the e-scooters perform even better. We expect the next-generation versions of the Ather scooters to be launched by August 2022. More details on the upcoming models here.
