After a disastrous start in the country by partnering with the wrong firm, Ducati is now all set to re-start it operations in the country with a strong back-up from parent company Audi. The Italian brand will set up two official dealerships, one in Gurgaon and Mumbai each, with the Gurgaon dealership being Ducati’s largest set-up in Asia; separate service set-ups under the brand are also on the cards.
Ducati will be bringing its entire line-up of motorcycles in the country except for the Street fighter. Rumor has that the Ducati scrambler may also make its way to India and it is anticipated that it will be the least priced Ducati in the portfolio. Initial operations will include CBUs with the CKDs being announced at a later date. The bikes will be imported from Thailand, and thank to good relations between India and Thailand, customers will benefit as well. It is anticipated that this time around the pricing may start at an attractive seven lakh rupees, which should hopefully have the Ducati fan boys in queues at the dealerships.
Ducati will also set-up a service and spares network for their existing customers and plans to offer more as its operations and dealership networks in the country grow.
